A Letter to Anyone
Tired of Food Brand Lies
By Rohit Dandwani, Founder · LoveArth · 4 min read
If you've ever flipped a "healthy" package over and felt your stomach drop at the sugar content — this one's for you.
I'm not writing this to tell you every food brand is lying to you. Most people building food companies genuinely believe in what they're making. But I've been on your side of the shelf, standing there reading a label that promised one thing and delivered another, and I remember exactly what that feeling is: not anger, really. Just a quiet, specific disappointment. The sense of having trusted something you shouldn't have.
That's the actual feeling that built LoveArth. Not a business plan. Not a market gap analysis. A cereal box, a sugar number that didn't match the word "healthy" printed above it, and the realisation that if it happened to me — someone paying close attention, training for a role, actively trying to eat well — it was almost certainly happening to people who weren't checking as carefully.
I'd always had a complicated relationship with food and my own body — bullied for being overweight growing up, never quite comfortable in my own skin. So this wasn't abstract for me. Food had always felt like a source of anxiety before it felt like nourishment. Building LoveArth became my way of trying to fix that, for myself first, and for whoever else needed the same thing.
We're a small company. We make things in small batches, in Nashik, in a facility my family has run in some form since my grandfather built it from nothing after arriving from Pakistan with almost no money. We don't have the marketing budget of the brands whose labels made you suspicious in the first place. What we have is a rule we don't break: if it's not something we'd want printed clearly and read out loud, it doesn't go in the product.
I don't know what specifically made you tired of reading labels that lie. Maybe it was a cereal, like mine. Maybe it was a protein bar, a "diet" snack, a supplement that promised something it never delivered. Whatever it was — you were right to notice. That instinct, the one that makes you flip the pack over and actually read it, is exactly the instinct this whole company was built to reward.
If that's what you're looking for, we'd genuinely love to have you. And if it's not us — if some other brand earns that trust instead — I'd still rather you keep checking the back of the pack than stop asking the question. That matters more than which company you end up buying from.
With love, and an actual ingredient list,Rohit Dandwani
